UK Labour market continued to strengthen during Spring 2016

UK latest employment figures have been released today by Office for National Statistics. The UK labour market continued to strengthen during Spring 2016, with record employment however these figures do not cover the period since the EU referendum.
For March - May 2016 employment rate was record high of 74.4%, unemployment rate was the lowest it has been since 2005 at 4.9% and the inactivity rate was a record low of 21.6%.
There were 2.2 unemployed people per vacancy for March - May 2016, down from 2.5 a year earlier.
