Vacancies in the UK are up by more than 10% year on year.
Wednesday, October 24, 2018
Vacancies in the UK have jumped by over 10% in the 3rd Quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year.
CV-Library’s latest job market report shows that job vacancies and advertised salaries were on the rise in Q3, when comparing data with the same period in 2017. CV-Library’s data shows that there’s been an 11.9% increase in job vacancies year-on-year and advertised salaries have increased by 4.3% compared over the same period.
Candidate registrations on CV-Library have also increased steadily over the last quarter however job application rates aren’t keeping up pace with the registrations.
Lee Biggins, Founder and Managing Director of CV-Library commented on these latest figures, “Despite unemployment being at its lowest rate since 1975, employer confidence is stronger than ever. But, while more candidates are showing interest in a new job, application rates aren’t keeping pace.
“If we hope to bridge the ongoing skills gap and start strengthening the UK workforce once more, organisations need to focus on targeting passive candidates and pulling out all the stops in order to attract the right people to their roles.”
